Bruma winery wants all its visitors to reconnect with their roots, which is why they consider themselves an “eco-friendly” winery. A place to not only enjoy fine wine, Bruma is a place to get in tune with nature. The winery is considered to be one of the world’s finest organic wineries, with everything about Bruma about reclaiming your soul and becoming one with the earth. The winery is more of boutique resort that offers guests organic wines and experiences that make you forget about the hustle and bustle of your regular life.

The winery is a true piece of artwork and was designed by renowned Mexican architect Alejandro D’Acosta, who also designed a few other wineries in the Valle Valle de Guadalupe. Built using recycled optical glass and wooden slats from an old San Francisco bridge, the winery features curving rammed earth walls and a heavenly and luscious native-plant garden on top of the roof to make it all blend in with the surrounding terrain. All construction materials used to build the Bruma winery were locally sourced, adding to its sustainable appeal.

The main draw to Bruma winery, besides is stunning beauty and organic wines, include a 300-year oak tree that’s located in the Barrel Hall, which the winery was built around. The winemaker proceeding over the organic wines is Lourdes Martinez Ojeda, who hails from a storied Ensenada family known for their wine expertise. Her family was one of the 13 founding ones of Ensenada in Baja California. Ojeda studied for years in France at Grand Cru Cellars, which has influenced her knowledge and helped pave the way for Bruma’s extraordinary selections and their exquisiteness.

With only 3,000 cases of wine produced each year, drinking their offerings is like sampling divine juices that will leave your taste buds begging for more. Their wine bottles can also be found at the likes of Wynn Las Vegas and The French Laundry, but they taste nothing like enjoying them in person while visiting Bruma winery. The organic reds are impressive, while the white are noteworthy.

The best way to enjoy Bruma’s organic wines is having dinner at the resort’s Fauna restaurant, which is brand-new and the brainchild of husband-and-wife team David Castro Hussong and Maribel Aldaco Silva. The hearty and savory menu is handed by Hussong himself, while Silva oversees the delectable sweets that will make your mouth water at first bite!
