Casa Magoni winery is owned and operated by the Magoni family’s second generation and guided by the hand of the skilled enologist Camillo Magoni. Ask anyone about the wine in Baja California and they are sure to mention wine-making icon Camillo Magoni and the significant impact he has made in the wine industry in Valle de Guadalupe. Casa Magoni started offering its wine to the public in 2013 after 15 years of creating their wines solely for private consumption. Their goal is to provide guests with quality wines that showcase the varietal characteristics of their grapes. This philosophy along with the peaceful setting and excellent service have grown Casa Magoni vineyards to be a favorite in the valley.
To ensure their unique qualities are preserved, all wine offerings are made from grapes harvested directly from their beautiful vineyard. Casa Magoni Valle de Guadalupe features both commercial and classic grape varieties that range from Bordeaux grapes (Merlots, Sauvignons, and Cabernet Francs) to Rhone grapes (Syrahs and Grenaches) to Greek grapes (Assyrtiko and Moscofilero). Besides these classic varieties, Casa Magoni also features an experimental field, which is where they cultivate more than 70 grape varieties from across the globe and produce intriguing wines that have adapted to their land. But it’s their Nebbiolo that really shines and inspires visitors to appreciate Mexican wine.
The vineyard location is convenient and easy to access making it simple to stop and sample the delicious and affordable wines – this combination is sure to entice you to purchase multiple bottles to enjoy at home. The wine tasting room is modern, bright, and inviting featuring sharp, clean rock constructions that create the indoor space and an outdoor patio for tastings. Expect the very best service when visiting Casa Magoni. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. The wine will definitely catch your attention; however, the real star of the property is the massive 200-year-old Encino tree that towers over the winery. To really enhance your experience while at Casa Magoni vineyard, you’ll definitely want to request to have your tasting under the massive arms of this grandfather tree.
If you’re lucky to wine taste at Casa Magoni Winery on a weekend, you’ll be treated to live music under that spectacular tree. It’s a great winery to come with friends or family and to just soak in all the beauty of the Valley around you. The wines are satisfying, while the cheese trays are equally delicious. Expect the very best service with a visit to Casa Magoni since they aim to provide an enjoyable and authentic experience to each and every customer. A trip to Valle de Guadalupe wouldn’t be complete without a tasting at Casa Magoni vineyards.
