Founded back in 1987 by a group of five friends, Monte Xanic vineyard currently produces 50,000 cases a year, using estate-grown grapes that are cultivated using the highest quality standard imaginable. The Monte Xanic winery was created by great wine lovers for the enjoyment of wine enthusiasts all across the globe, looking for something more than traditional selections. On a mission to create a wine that’s meant to be “served and shared,” Monte Xanic vineyard has evolved to become an undisputed leader of the Mexican wine industry. Considered the pioneer winery of the region, others eventually followed suit, but only one leader remains.
In more than three decades of its existence, Monte Xanic winery is world-renowned. Enjoyed by dignitaries, influential personas and even Popes, their wine is some of the finest in the region. It’s taken home more than 260 medals in both local and international wine competitions, impressing some of the word’s most demanding juries and panels.
With principals that can never be erased, Monte Xanic winery continues its commitment to quality wines and innovation for even better examples in the near future. The wine is the perfect blend of respect for tradition and the use of modern technology. The Monte Xanic winery greets visitors with a grand gate, which is unseen in other parts of the region.
You’ll need to make a reservation to pass, but once you do, you’ll be completely blown away by the vast vineyards that spread out on both sides of the road as far as the eye can see. A lovely manmade lake that sparkles in the sunshine will catch your eye as you near the complex. Enjoying some Monte Xanic wines out on the open covered patio provides a pleasing ambiance on hot summer days as the cool Pacific breeze refreshes you.
The tasting room is filled with knowledgeable staff members eager to share their passion for many of the offerings. Group tours are kept to a maximum of only 20 guests to ensure the best experience and individual attention for Monte Xanic is not just a destination, but a full sensory experience you’ll never forget.

SIP WINE AT THE PATIO
After doing a tour of the facility or enjoying a tasting of Monte Xanic wines, make sure to order a “Tabla de Quesos” – a charcuterie board with local cheeses and cold cuts. Grab a bottle of your favorite bottle of Monte Xanic wine and enjoy the views from the patio.
Insider tip: For groups of 6 and more, it’s recommended that you book a table outside as they are in high demand. A smaller sitting area (high tops tables) is available inside as well. If the weather is going to be too windy or cold you might be better off booking indoors.
